Programmer Analyst

Overview:
The Programmer Analyst conducts thorough data analysis, helps design and implement productivity tools to support Spark’s intranet and common business applications that support our corporate functional teams. They collaborate with various teams to ensure we are optimizing our business processes. The Programmer Analyst is a part of team who’s goal is to develop an enterprise application suite, design and implement application platform, and ultimately be responsible for ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
Here's what you will do as a Programmer Analyst:
• Understand and contribute to the overall design required for the application solution (Business Process, Data, Application, and Technology) and providing simplified explanations to key stakeholders
• Ensures the application solution uses and provides enterprise information consistently, integrates effectively with other applications, supports a common application environment and user interaction model, and adheres to the common technology platform
• Assist in translating business requirements into detailed business and technical needs
• Work in collaboration with key stakeholders to develop, document and maintain critical business processes
• Collaborate regularly with various departments and operational teams to help envision the solution value and long term benefits
• Comprehension and communication of IT integration playbook working in collaboration with new acquisitions and respective functional departments to create migration solutions for data sourced in SQL, SaaS or other software
• Support in resolution of reported tickets and application-related issues
• Complete investigation and supporting documentation for root cause analysis
• Debug programs, create and execute test plans to support applications
• Design and document code and perform the testing and debugging of well-defined tasks in complex applications, functions and reports;
• Develop and support C#, Python, Angular or other programmed customizations and code base required to deliver an optimal experience to users of custom business applications;
• Develop Translate user/functional requirements into technical specifications working with the business analysts and other members of the ITS team;
• Design and code screen layouts, graphical user interfaces and interfaces with other systems;
• Write technical documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections;
• Write documentation that describes installation, deployment, and operating procedures related to the development tasks;
• Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions.
• Perform peer code reviews of completed development Participate and assist as required to identify and resolve data quality issues
• Maintain objectivity at all times to ensure processes, products and solutions are aligned and consistent with Spark’s systems and technologies
• Coordinate with the ITS team to implement connectivity to business intelligence and other corporate applications
• Raise and escalate any issues and concerns with ITS management and/or business process owners
• Make data-driven decisions and recommendations
• Develop and maintain documentation
Do you have the Spark? Here’s what we are looking for:
• University or post graduate level education in computer science, business or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required
• Additional certifications that exemplify a desire for continued education is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in programming environment or relevant field
• Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office, databases, web-based applications
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, GIT is an asset
• Participation and completion of deliverables in any of the following Software Development Lifecycle Phases: Design, Development and Integration Testing
• Proficiency in developing SQL queries and extracting data from databases, and understand complex database schemas and database objects
• In-depth understanding of Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures and Object Oriented techniques
• Experience in software development methodologies such as Agile, Rapid Application Development or Waterfall
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; Use Cases, Storyboarding/Iterative presentation layer development skill set;
• Experience with dealing with multiple stakeholders
• Demonstrated success working in a team-based environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
• Organized, diligent, and able to track and manage multiple streams of information on an ongoing basis
• Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment
