SCADA and Substation Automation Specialist

Here’s what you will do as a SCADA and Substation Automation Specialist:
- Manage and execute Automation/SCADA projects ensuring they are on budget and on time
- Complete the Automation/SCADA portion of collaborate project design packages
- Sign and stamp Automation/SCADA drawings/documents when required
- Manage and execute pre-commissioning and site commissioning
- Responsible for job preparation, including but not limited to, test equipment organization, and the completion of the report in a timely manner
- Conforming to productivity, quality, service reliability and safety requirements in accordance with real company needs, based on current regulations and company policies
- Assess and suggest improved techniques for the control of operations, quality, reliability and safety
- Responsible for the safe and efficient completion of the assigned project, according to company standards
- Represent company to client, and demonstrate client commitment and loyalty
- Mentor/train new and junior employees
- Prepare and submit quotes as they arise
Do you have the Spark?
Here’s what we’re looking for?
- Minimum 2 5 years’ experience designing and programming Automated Applications utilizing Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Remote Terminal Units (RTU) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Design and development of Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- Design and development SCADA and RTU
Instrumentation/Computer/Electrical Engineering Degree or - P.Eng designation considered an asset
- Member of APEGA is preferred
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (a copy of a valid work permit may be required)
- Travel, out of town work and willingness to work overtime
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Clearance on a security background check (criminal record check)
- Clean driving record
