The Director of Renewables Services will oversee the operational activities of the renewables services business unit. (repower, BESS, substation) Responsibilities will include managing projects, managing people, optimizing processes, ensuring efficient resource allocation, monitoring performance metrics, implementing strategies for growth, and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Effective communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are crucial for success in this role.

What will do you as a Director of Renewables Services

• Manage a team of project managers and field staff providing guidance, support, and leadership to ensure consistent execution of operational objectives across all projects

• Drive volume growth while maintaining a strong focus on profit margin, balancing business expansion with financial sustainability

• Review and execute agreements, work orders, and other project-specific documents as required

• Conduct comprehensive project reviews, evaluating the performance of the project execution teams

• Take a proactive role in driving and maintaining a cultural shift towards effective billing and collecting practices, enhancing revenue generation and financial stability

• Manage operations forecasting and review large-scale projects to ensure they are progressing according to plan, adjusting as needed to meet targets

• Responsible for hiring, employee development, and management of business unit personnel

• Attend and actively participate in reviews and revenue recognition (Rev Rec) meetings to evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement

• Engage in sales/operations meetings, facilitating communication between sales and operations teams to enhance collaboration and achieve shared objectives.

• Coordinate with the business development and estimating team to align sales initiatives and strategies with operational goals, fostering a cohesive approach to customer satisfaction and business growth

• Oversee the supply chain activities, ensuring effective coordination between operations and supply chain efforts to meet company objectives

• Conduct regular reviews of supply chain initiatives, identifying opportunities for optimization and taking actionable steps to improve efficiency

    Do you have the Spark? Here’s what we’re looking for:

    • Experience – 10-15 years experience in renewables service or construction industry. Experience in project management, client relations, P&L management

    • Education – Post-secondary degree/diploma preferred

    • Previous experience managing a small, highly effective team.

    • Willingness to travel as necessary

    • Typical office environment, sitting, performing repetitive motions, use of office equipment 

    • Work indoors and outdoors, in businesses, office setting, factories, and construction sites.  

    • Spends long hours concentrating and requires attention to detail 

    • Must be able to lift 30lbs

    • Must travel to different worksites, local or long-distance commuting is often required.
